About Emily Carroll
Emily holds a Master's degree in Counseling from Albany State University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. She is currently applying for Associate Professional Counselor licensure. She has been an Athens local since 2017 and has an extensive background in working with college students and young adults in ministry and school settings. Her approach is centered on how past experiences influence present experiences, beliefs, and relationships. She enjoys helping her clients identify patterns in their life that either serve them well or might need modification. She does this through emotional exploration, examination of family origins, cognitive restructuring, and empathetic encounters. Her aim is to help clients heal from their past and present hurts so that they can be healthy and whole and live as their authentic self. She enjoys working with women ages 13 and up with parental/family of origin concerns, relationship concerns, life-stage transitions, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs. She enjoys incorporating spirituality into her sessions when appropriate.
