About Emily Carroll
Emily is a graduate-level Intern currently working on her Masters in Counseling at Albany State University. She is anticipated to graduate in December 2024. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in 2017 and has stayed in Athens ever since. She has a background in ministry and years of experience working with college students. Her approach is centered on how past experiences influence present experiences, beliefs, and relationships. She enjoys helping her clients identify patterns in their life that are either serving them well or might need modification. She does this through emotional exploration, examination of family origins, cognitive restructuring, and empathetic encounters. Her aim is to help clients heal from their past and present hurts so that they can be healthy and whole and live as their authentic self. She enjoys working with women ages 13 and up with parental/family of origin concerns, relationship concerns, life-stage transitions, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs. She enjoys incorporating spirituality into her sessions when appropriate.
