About Meredith Payne

Meredith is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor. She provides therapy to young children (ages 3-11), college age adults, and adults (18+). She has experience working with children, college students, and adults of all ages. She primarily works with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationships issues, low-self esteem and developmental life transitions. Her goal is to empower you/your child to discover the tools needed to overcome life’s struggles. I would be so honored to talk with you through your journey of self-discovery and healing. You are already one step closer to creating the life you desire!

She is passionate about creating a welcoming and accepting environment, built on compassion for you/your child to connect, discover, play, and heal. She believes therapy can be a fun, creative expression of yourself and is here to support you. She works collaboratively with her clients to consider all aspects of their world. When appropriate, Meredith enjoys working with clients who wish to integrate faith into sessions.

Meredith tailors her approach to each individual client to meet their needs, temperament, and personality. She tends to work from a developmental approach with her clients. Her clients enjoy gaining self-awareness of themselves through exploring their desires, needs, and strengths.. She utilizes a variety of techniques from evidence-based theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person Centered Therapy (PCT) and Expressive Arts Therapy. Meredith is trained in Brainspotting levels 1 and 2. Brainspotting is a brain-based trauma technique to help quickly and effectively heal and release deep emotional trauma and pain.

In addition to therapy, she has presented psychoeducation workshops to middle school, high school students, and parents across the Atlanta area on topics such as anxiety, suicide prevention, social media, and healthy relationships. Outside of work, she is a lover of fitness, music, audiobooks, and relaxing on the lake with her husband and family.
